During the Connecting Europe Days, celebrated on 5 -6 April in Brussels, the Stan4SWAP consortium had the pleasure to meet with Commissioner for Transport Adina-Ioana Vălean
During the chat the Commissioner expressed that [she] “welcome the Horizon project STAN4SWAP aiming at developing a standardization roadmap for swappable Battery Systems for mopeds and motorcycles.”
“A future standard will boost the uptake of this type of electric vehicles, while significantly reducing charging time, overcoming range anxiety and reduce the costs for the final users”
She further expressed that: “The project brings together different partners, including CEN-CENELEC, and it is in line with the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation calling for “Technical specifications for battery swapping for L-cat electric vehicles” and the EU Commission Implementing Decision for a “European Standard containing technical specification with a unified solution for battery swapping for L cat vehicles” that has already been published.”
During the European elections in May 2024, Vălean has been elected Member of the European Parliament in Romania in the coming legislative term. The Stan4SWAP wishes MEP Vălean all the best for her new mandate.
