Stan4SWAP at EICMA talk: The contribution of Powered Two Wheelers to sustainable urban mobility

The talk, organised by ANCMA, the Italian Industry Association of Powered Two Wheelers vehicles took place on Tuesday 5 November in the framework of EICMA

The talk consisted in an interesting exchange of views with the following representatives from industry and local authorities:

  • Stefano Zenoni, Councillor for Environment and Mobility of Bergamo

  • Antonio Perlot, Secretary General of ACEM

  • Ivo Cré, Director Policy and Projects of POLIS

  • Mariano Roman, President of ANCMA

All speakers underlined that sustainability can coexist with mobility. Moreover, powered two wheeled vehicles can represent a valuable solution at the urban level with several benefits for citizens.


Representing Industry, Karl-Maria Grugl, Head of Regulatory Affairs at KTM and Enrico Mayrhofer, Head of Regulatory Affairs of Piaggio Group - both members of STAN4SWAP consortium - pointed out during the talk that: “harmonized policy measures at local and EU member state level are necessary to enable the industry to predict the market and to offer tailored solutions at the appropriate time and quantity”, and “Swappable battery is sustainable urban mobility example that can be significantly boosted with the definition of a EU standard”. Therefore, “STAN4SWAP proposes to develop a robust standardization roadmap to support decarbonization especially at the urban level”.


EICMA is an annual trade show taking place in Milan, Italy and is one of the most relevant international exhibitions for the sector of 2-wheelers.
