After being launched first exclusively for the participants at the final event, the roadmap is now ready for download
Standards play a crucial role in fostering economic efficiency, particularly in the context of industrial production, technological innovation, and market expansion. The Stan4SWAP project recognises the need for integrating standards into the innovation process from an early stage to facilitate a smooth transition to use of swappable battery systems as part of the mobility mix.
The aim with the Stan4SWAP standardisation roadmap is to boost the deployment of swappable battery systems across Europe by clearly indicating standardisation and pre-normative research needs, as well as providing concrete policy recommendations. These recommendations focus on:
Regulatory improvement, coherence, and complementarities
Needs for pre-normative research
Areas for standardisation development
Education and training
strengthening international cooperation
The standardisation roadmap builds on the work carried out by the project partners over the last two year. With insightful and to the point summaries the document easily brings the reader up to speed with the work leading to the Stan4SWAP standardisation roadmap.
As the previous work published, the Stan4SWAP standardisation roadmap is organised around four levels of the ecosystem, namely:
Battery level
Vehicle level
Charging Infrastructure level
Interfaces between levels and full system management
The roadmap is freely available for download to support any further work in the area of swappable batteries for light category vehicle which promises a number of benefits to European cities.
